Our Story

Andrew & Ashley

Slow travel, deeply researched guides, and the honest stories behind them. We gave up conventional careers to live across Europe and came back with something better than a highlight reel.

Who We Are

A Navy Vet and a Figure Skater
Who Chose Europe.

I'm Andrew — a US Navy veteran with a background in aviation electronics, two degrees in Exercise Science and Sports Management, and a decade of endurance coaching. Ashley is a former competitive figure skater turned avid runner and outdoor enthusiast. Between the two of us, we had done a lot of things the conventional way. Then we decided the conventional way wasn't quite right for us.

We quit our jobs and moved to Europe. What started as an experiment in living differently became something we hadn't fully planned: deeply researched travel guides for people who want to explore slowly and actually remember what they saw. We lived across Germany, France, Italy, Scotland, and England. Not tourist passes — extended stays. The kind where you learn which café is genuinely good and which one just looks good in photos.

How We Travel

Presence.
Connection.
Authenticity.

Travel done intentionally isn't a highlight reel — it's a practice of presence, connection, and genuine discovery. That's not a marketing line. It's the difference between coming home exhausted and coming home with something that actually changed how you see things.

Stay Longer

A week in one place reveals more than a month racing between capitals. Real understanding of a place takes time — and rewards the people willing to give it.

Go Deeper

Hidden corners, train-accessible towns, shoulder-season gems. We go where patience is rewarded over planning — and write about what we actually find there.

Arrive Present

The most meaningful moments don't appear on a schedule. The empty piazza at 7 AM. The focaccia you stumble into. We help you create space for the unexpected ones.

Travel Honestly

We tell you when the €20 tower climb is worth it. We also tell you when something isn't. The guides here come from real extended stays, not press trips.

What You'll Find Here

Guides Built From
Real Extended Stays.

The guides take time to write properly. We'd rather publish fewer pieces that are genuinely useful than flood the site with content that tells you what you could find in a 30-second search.
